Halton YourSpace

yourspace

The main focus of Halton YourSpace  is to provide individual counselling and appropriate group work for children and young persons between 5 and 19 years old who live in Halton, ensuring ‘The 3 Rs’: That the Right children receive the Right services at the Right time .

YourSpace, managed by Jenna Ruth, is the established Child & Adolescent Counselling service for the borough of Halton.

YourSpace continues to thrive and  grow at record pace, our ever successful service provides Counselling, listening, family support and group work sessions, in the form of Seasons for Growth grief education programmes, across the borough.

During an average year we have well over 400 Young people referred to YourSpace, that’s  over 1550 Counselling Sessions, and over 200 group work sessions!

Our Counsellors work within almost every school across Halton and make use of counselling rooms within Children’s Centres, libraries and here at the Kings Cross Project.

Our referrals come from Schools, Health Services, Social Care, families direct and various other agencies.

Issues range from bullying and behavioural issues through to self harm and sexual abuse.

We consistently exceed our targets putting pressure on our resources and is always difficult for the staff here at the Kings Cross Project to have to turn families and young people away and we have been known to work voluntarily to offer support!

It is always our aim to provide a holistic approach to each referral; no young person is worked with in isolation so as to ensure support is able to continue after our involvement. By working closely with schools, other agencies and the family unit it is possible to draw together a secure, consistent support network around each child and young person, whom they can rely on when needed.
