A JOINT INITIATIVE BETWEEN HITS AND THE KING CROSS PROJECT
The transition from primary to secondary school can be a stressful time for children. For some, difficulties that have been contained in the primary environment lead rapidly to major problems in the very different setting of the secondary school. The transition project will work with vulnerable children in the final year of primary school (year 6) and the first two years of secondary school (years 7&8) to equip children and parents with skills to negotiate transition more successfully.
The project has two workers: Schools Group Worker, Claire Pauline, and Parent Support Worker, Liam Knox. Claire's background is in teaching within both Primary and Secondary Schools. Liam's background is within Mentoring and Attendance.
