Counselling

Welcome > Home for Agencies > Services > Counselling

I would like to welcome you to the Kings Cross Project Counselling service and introduce you to our counselling team. My name is Michelle Oultram the Adult Counselling Co-ordinator our team consists of 5 qualified counsellors and 13 trainee counsellors working towards their Diploma in counselling. Everyone gives his or her services voluntarily.

The counsellors come from a variety of professional backgrounds: social work, health, education, youth and community work. What each counsellor has in common, however, is the belief in and respect for the person being counselled.

The counselling service is unfunded and run entirely by loyal voluntary staff.

Mission Statement

Its overall aim is to provide a counselling service that is safe, professional and confidential, that complements and enhances the overall services provided by the Kings Cross Project. In the wider sphere it seeks to work in harmony and co-operation with other voluntary and statutory organisations. Its core purpose is to enable and empower clients to live as fully as they choose.

Our Aims

The adult counselling service is the only project within the Kings Cross Project that is run entirely without any financial support.

We have many agencies that value our service and understand the increased demand within counselling. Agencies refer to us as an alternative to repeated visits to GPs surgeries. Instead of treating the symptoms we treat the cause, which helps the client improve their lives.

Areas Covered in Counselling

We try to ensure that clients are offered the earliest appointment available.

If you want to refer someone, with their permission, or if you can relate to any of these issues and feel that you would benefit from counselling the first thing to do is contact our office on 0151 420 4905.

You do not need to be referred to use our counselling service.
